Our Business Relationship with Verio
CU Village (Credit Union Village) has a key relationship with Verio, which provides Web hosting to CU Village.com. It is the world's largest Web hosting company and leading provider of comprehensive Internet services. Since its incorporation in March 1996, Verio has grown rapidly, establishing a global presence through the acquisition, integration and organic growth of more than 54 local, regional, national and international providers of Internet connectivity, Web hosting and other enhanced Internet services. Verio was acquired by NTT Communications in September 2000, thereby creating one of the world's leading providers of Internet Protocol (IP) services. Today, the combined entities market their global suite of IP services under the NTT/VERIO brand in the US, Europe and Asia. As a member of the NTT Communications family, Verio enjoys a strong industry position with financial strength to support future growth and lend stability in today's challenging economy. CU Village.com has been using Verio or now subsidiaries of it since 1995.
Security
Along with CU Village.com, Verio analyzes network traffic and identifies abnormal activity patterns or access requests from suspect, notorious or threatening sources. This intense analytical processing provides a baseline from which expert security engineers evaluate log data from the firewall and provide comments as to the security of the network.
The engineers provide live 24 x 7 x 365 security analysis, reviewing data in Verio's Security Operations Centers. Upon confirmation of emergency malicious activity Verio notifies CU Village.com. If Verio has not already done so, CU Village.com's first response will be to shutdown or eliminate the security vulnerability. Depending on the type of activity, CU Village.com will notify any affected client as quickly as possible.
Technology
CU Village.com employs a wide range of technologies to serve its customers with a high level of service uptime. Its technologies are built around Verio's infrastructure that includes 24x7x365 monitoring, advanced data centers, and redundant communications from multiple providers.
Upgrades and Changes to Technology
CU Village and Verio are in the constant process of reviewing the latest patches, releases and upgrades for the technologies that are used, especially software-based technologies. Upgrades are performed on an as needed basis to improve system stability, functionality, performance and/or security. However, before an upgrade is performed, CU Village.com and/or Verio must deem it to be both stable and of sufficient value enough to implement. In most cases, technology upgrades will be completely transparent to our customers. When system downtime is required, every attempt will be made to provide advance notice of when it will occur, how long it will last, and to schedule it during low usage periods.
Verio Network Operations Center
The network CU Village.com uses is monitored 7 days a week, 24 hours a day by Verio's Network Operations Center (NOC) in Dallas, Texas. The NOC provides network monitoring, performance and traffic management to both the national and ISP networks. It also furnishes real-time network status to CU Village.com and its partner's Customer Care and assists with problem resolution. In addition, the NOC serves the National Network with real-time alarming, event correlation, forecasting and notifications of network events. CU Village.com's business partner, Verio, and Verio's national engineering group, strengthened by its regional engineering teams, constantly monitors and upgrades network technology whenever and wherever appropriate.
